2010 OHC WORKSHOPS & SEMINARS
Fall 2010: PVC Candle Make & Take: by Hector Turner
Mark
you calendars for this Fall Make & Take! Create ultra-realistic prop candles quickly & easily. Featuring authentic
drips these easy to make candles will add ambience to any graveyard or haunted mansion scene. Using ordinary LED battery powered
tea lights and a hot glue gun you can turn regular PVC pipe into amazingly realistic pillar candles. This will be a hands-on
seminar with each student being given enough tools & supplies to make 4-5 candles in the afternoon.
Final dates
to be confirmed but it looks like early September after the summer holidays are over so that more people can attend. Snack
& drinks will be provided. Location in the Bathurst/Steeles area of Toronto. Cost to be determined but probably in the
range of $50-60/person which will include a hot glue gun, glue sticks, pre-cut PVC pipe, LED tea lights and other supplies
- enough for 4-5 finished candles. Final finishing and staining will be demonstrated but due to the room requirements &
drying time you will need to finish the spray painting at home.
Registration will take place in a few weeks so that
supplies can be ordered and the room booked. Space will be limited and registration will be on a first come/first served basis.
I'm
really looking forward to this. The candles I put together last Halloween had a huge impact on my cemetery scene and yet were
so easy to make. I plan on adding more and more every year.
